Hello Parents and Students

 School starts on Monday July 31st  School hours are 8:30 - 3:30.  Breakfast in the classroom starts at 8:30 and ends at 8:45.  Learning begins at 8:45

Things to know about First Grade:

 You can support your child and myself by:

• Checking your child’s backpack daily

• Attending conferences, field trips, and helping out in the classroom

• Reading with your child for at least 20 minutes a day

• Helping your child with their homework

• Keeping me informed of any changes that are happening in your child’s life

• Letting me know of any learning or behavior problems

I believe that for a student to succeed there must be a strong parent-teacher relationship.  One of the key components for this to happen is communication.  I encourage you to contact me with any questions or concerns that you have.  You can either send me a note, dojo, or email me at karen.lock@dvusd.org.  However, Dojo is the easiest and quickest. I look forward to building a strong relationship with you and your child this year!
